Cardiff University has now published a short video of the events which took place on Founders Day (24 October) to celebrate the 125th anniversary of its founding. The video is available online here:

http://www.cardiff.ac.uk/125/news/founders-day-video.html

It includes a brief snippet of the ringing that took place that day at St John's.

This week (and possibly next) entrance to the church will be through the South door, which is accessed via the churchyard from the passageway running from Central Market towards St David's Centre. This is due to ongoing re-paving work.

There is no open ringing on Sunday morning November 16th due to a QP attempt.

All Thursday practices in December are affected by various services :
On 4th and 18th we hope to practice as usual but the normal 7.30 pm start time may be delayed, hopefully by no more than 15 minutes.
On the 11th there will be ringing from 6.00 pm to 6.55 pm for a service and there will be no practice. A curry is planned for that evening - watch this space!
There is no practice (10-bell or otherwise) on Christmas Day!

On Christmas Eve there is a noon Eucharist with carols. We hope to ring before this, from about 11.15 am. If anyone is available to help us please let me know - you will be very welcome.

Please note that the Llandaff Cathedral website has moved to:
http://llandaffringing.x10hosting.com/

The old location will pass away peacefully in the coming weeks.

Please update any links that you may have on your own sites.

The next Monmouth Branch practice is scheduled for Saturday 15th November at Abergavenny beginning at 3pm.

For those that haven't been to Abergavenny before, the location of the tower can be found here:

It is later this week.......new "lite" system installed

Users now have three mailboxes:

1. Inbox
2. Outbox
3. Savebox

Users can optionally save outgoing messages in the Outbox at the time of sending on a message-by-message basis. The default is "not saved".

Messages that Users really want to keep (from Inbox/Outbox) should be moved to the Savebox. Messages will be "purged" from time to time to save space/resources. The Savebox will be exempt from the purges.

All seems to be working okay, but please let me know if this is not the case.

Hi all,

I've removed the extended/enhanced messaging system which was installed earlier this year. Seems that it was overkill for our Users needs and wasn't being used at all, probably because it's easier to send an email

At the moment Users have the orignal "Inbox". The Inbox will contain all messages which were in the Inbox and also any messages that were in the "Sent" folder. You can identify these latter messages (if any) as there will be a "red cross" missing image place-holder.

I'll update the resultant basic system with a new "lighter but enhanced" version of the Messaging System later this week. This will include a "Savebox" for those messages that users really do wish to keep

A few bug-fixed have been carried out today. I don't think this will have broken anything but please let me know if you think that something isn't right.

No Mary, the date formats won't have been affected by this
