The next Monmouth Branch practice is scheduled for Saturday 18th July at Llanwern beginning at 7pm.

For those that haven't been to Llanwern before the location of the tower can be found here:

http://dove.cccbr.org.uk/googleMap.php?lat=51.58616&lon=-2.90939

Llanwern are a very pleasant ring of 5 which were recast and rehung in 1991.

The special method for the evening is To The Pub Doubles. There will, of course, also be the usual mix of ringing to suit everyone.

The line for To The Pub is available here:

The BBC website has a video of Today programme presenter Evan Davies getting a lesson in ringing at St Peter Mancroft.

The Petertide Ordination takes place this Saturday 27 June at St Woolos. As is normal for these events there will be general ringing before the service from 9.15 - 10.00am. Please feel free to come along if you are available and pass the invitation on to ringers from towers that have an interest in the ordination.

Regards

Tom

Hi,

Sorry for the very short notice, but please note that there is no ringing at Llandaff this evening, Sunday 7th June 2009.

Please note, too, that there is no ringing this coming Tuesday evening either due to there being a concert (part of the Llandaff Festival) in the Cathedral.

A visiting Swiss choir will be singing before the morning service on June 21st, starting at 09h45. Ringing that morning will therefore be 15 minutes earlier than usual ie 09h00 - 09h40.

The next Monmouth Branch practice is scheduled for Saturday 20th June. This month is a split practice between Llangattock-vibon-Avel (6.30 start) and Skenfrith (7.30 start).

For those that haven't been to Llangattock before the map at the link below shows the location of the tower. It is a bit tricky to find (yes, it really is in a field!).

The bells at Llangattock are not rung that often so this is a good chance for a grab and they are worth a visit for the location alone. Skenfrith are a very pleasant ring of six that were rehung in 2007. The location of the tower can be found here:

http://www.multimap.com/s/7ZDmsLqo

For those that are interested, David Price has also arranged a visit to Mitchel Troy on that day at 5.15pm as part of his videoing project. Anyone who hasn't rung at Mitchel Troy will be most welcome to come along for a grab on the ring of three. I shall certainly be there as Mitchel Troy is the only ringable tower in the branch that I've not been to! If you are planning to come along to Mitchel Troy perhaps you could let David or myself know.
